I could go on and on, but these are just some really funny and/or nostalgiac moments for me over the past 5.5 years that I wanted to reflect upon in some way. If you remember any of these incidents, or would like to comment, please do so!! :-D And if there are any you would like to add, just toss 'em up there, too!!

I Teach in the Twilight Zone
This is a scanned copy of the picture and caption in The Clinton Chronicle today featuring my precious, precious homeroom children and me. I had to do a little photo-editing, because I'm not sure of the whole kids' pictures on the internet and confidentiality laws and such. But, as Terence said...if it's public info in the newspaper, it ought to be okay online. Well, since I don't give a flyin' flip if you see my picture on the internet, I didn't mess with my face! As far as my kids...I'm protecting their identities because I love them. I just wanted all of my friends to see the picture and caption. There's an article, too, in which my name is spelled CORRECTLY!!! :-D I went out and bought 6 copies tonight (on top of the one that we got delivered today). :-D I'm going to laminate at least one tomorrow at school. But for now, here's the edited version.
How totally freaked out would I be if my kids really had faces like this!! Eeeek!!

THANKS to Clemson, and everyone there whom I love dearly, for an AWESOME weekend!!
Okay. You and I both know that I need to be doing my lesson plans right now. Especially considering that I've played all weekend, it's almost 11 PM, and they're due before 7:40 in the morning. But we both also know that I cannot get down to real work until I get my blogging out of the way. Because my name is Libby, and I like to procrastinate.
I had a really fun, really awesome weekend. I found out on, like, Wednesday that I was going to be able to go to the Boston College v. Clemson game on Saturday. So, on Friday I packed up my orange, a few cute 'going out' outfits and headed to Tigertown! Friday night, the boys and Amy and Tara cooked supper, and it was DELISH!! David called Tara's potatoes, "sex in his mouth." I'm not so sure that "Scoops" would agree, but hey. To each his own. And to find out about "Scoops," you need to ask Jennifer Denton.
Anyway, we all went out on Friday night. It has been sooo long since I've been out with everyone in Clemson! And, it was literally, like, EVERYONE. Minus Shay. And Kevin. And Chris. But you get my point...even Jason, Amy, and Jake went out with us!! They took me to 356, which is the "New" Uptown. (Literally....not like "pink is the new black," but like the owners of Uptown bought out Fashion Shack and changed it into a bar called 356. Which was the address of Uptown before Jen killed it. But anyway, I digress...) 356 is pretty cool. Very chill. And the Sex on the Beach comes with a sword stuck through an orange wedge and cherry. I was super excited about the sword....until I broke it while I was chewing on it while I was talking to Kim Satterfield. Oh well. I probably would've tripped and fallen eventually and jabbed the sword through the roof of my mouth had I not broken it.
This is a picture of pKyle being PIMP laying on these really cool coffee table/foot rest/bench things that they have at 356 near the black leather couches.
While at 356, I also cock-blocked Jen at one point without really totally meaning to. Luckily, she found the guy again and continued to talk/flirt/whatever. Until David cock-blocked her again later.
Some of the biggest highlights of my night/weekend, though, had to be the people and friends I ran into. Some of them, I hadn't seen it quite some time!!! First of all, I ran into my wonderful former roommate, Catriona outside of TigerTown Tavern!! :-D Then, leaving 356, I ran into Kim Satterfield (that's when the broken sword incident occurred.) Also, while I was talking to her, the Moore twins (Reed and Chuck), whom I have not seen in AGES came up and spoke and gave me hugs!! Man, it was so good to see them!! I still remember the time when Reed Moore and his friend Russ were in mine and Jamie's bed wearing our pajamas one night when we came back from hanging out on 2nd floor Freshman year. :-D Anyway, when I left Kim and the Moore twins, I caught up with KQ!!! I wish James had come down from Charlotte to hang with her, but I'll have to catch up with my favoritest roomie of all times at another place and time, I guess!! But anyway, it was good to see KQ up from ATL!! After saying bye to her, I was finally on my way to Backstreets where all of my crew had gone. Jen, the best girl in the whole wide world, had stopped to wait for me. Iddin she sweet?! :-D
At Backstreets, we played darts. My first time really playing a real game of darts and really keeping score. I didn't even know how to keep score at darts before Friday night. I learned something else about darts that night, too: I suck at playing darts. :-D Never give a sharp object to a girl with bad aim. It was fun, though, so maybe I'll play more often and get better!
Leaving Backstreets, though, was THE highlight of Friday night, I would have to say. I wrote a couple of posts ago about Eric Lawhorn and about how much I miss him. Well, gosh golly darn gee whiz, who do you think we saw leaving Backstreets? The Big E, himself, leaving Overtime. Now. I've only seen Eric Lawhorn downtown about 6 other times. Only one of those was he in a bar drinking. The other five, he was driving through to pick up his friends. Ahem, Terence. :-D Anyway, Eric was LIT UP on Friday night, and was HILARIOUS!!! You know that term, "I'm tickled pink?" Well, I really think that if Eric wasn't black, his skin would've been pink. Baby girl pink. He was sooo giggly and happy to see me!! :-D I was the same way, but I think the alcohol made him damn right giddy. But, Eric, I'm so glad I got to see you, too, Bud!! I enjoyed my hugs!!! And here, for the readers' pleasure and entertainment, is a picture of Eric and me that night! :-D Aren't we so cute?!
But anyway, we all know what happened on Saturday at the game, so I won't go into much detail about that. (Other than the fact that I should've worn my orange pants. We're undefeated when Jen and I wear our orange pants.) But I will mention that Weston Wright is a badass for getting me a ticket. pKyle is an even bigger badass for sitting with his parents so that I could use his ticket in UB which was IN THE SHADE until the last 30 seconds of regulation!!! :-D David and I were still pretty warm, but damn if it wasn't nice to be out of the glaring sun and ridiculous heat!! I also enjoyed seeing Matt McCants...that was a very pleasant surprise!! :-D And I got to tailgate for a few minutes with Meredith and her family, which was trés cool. I always enjoy any time I get to spend with Mere. Got to see Brit, too!! :-D Mandy...I hope you're at the Temple game, girl. Got to see Chris and Carrie (and Carrie's ring...Chris done good.) AND....Adam definitely facebooked Kyle's mom!! :-D
(I have a picture, but apparently Blogger thinks I have too much stuff in this entry and won't let me add it. But, if you click on Mandy's BlogIsTheNewBlack, Adam has posted the picture on there in his guest blog!! )
Oh, and by the way, Dave's new car kicks ass!! :-D

Modern-Day Role Models
Scene: Terence and I were talking about Sesame Street and how Oscar used to be orange and how much we dislike Elmo and the fact that we're going to see Sesame Street Live together when it comes to either G'Ville or Cola., etc.
Terence: Grover owns Elmo
Me: so totally
Terence: and where's Grover? who knows?
Me: yeah for real
Me: oh oh oh! I couldn't find Sesame Street Live near here--not all dates are posted. BUT, one of the like 4 shows that goes around this year....SSL: Super Grover! We should try for that one!
Terence: lol! that one would be awesome. at least Grover still gets some love
Me: yeah. hopefully he's making a comeback
Me: maybe he was so ADHD...
Me: they put him on ritalin
Terence: ah
Me: you know--to set a good example for kids
Terence: NO
Me: and then he like, wasn't 'grover' any more
Terence: Grover on ritalin, Cookie Monster saying Cookies are a 'sometimes' food...f*** that
Terence: /sorry. soapbox.
Me: so they have him writing instead of acting
Terence: I could get down w/ that...as long as that means someone is doing the near/far sketches
Me: haha. those were the best!
Me: yeah now
Me: ronald mcdonald is starting a fitness campaign in 1/3 of america's public schools [he's coming to my school on friday]
Terence: ronald mcdonald doing fitness? that's like Joe Camel doing DARE posters
Me: Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

a post just to post
There's a ladybug living in my room right now! :-D That means I'm lucky, right? ;)
My mom's birthday is Tuesday. It will also be the 8th anniversary of my grandfather's death. And, it marks 4.5 years for Shay and me. (yeah, I know...'there's no such thing as a "half" anniversary' but I don't care! :-D)
Ronnie's birthday is Thursday.
I love Mexican food.
I'm exhausted. I don't want to do any work. But I know I must.
Shay and I fought a whole lot this weekend. :( It makes me really sad, too, because the two weekends prior to this one were really, really awesome. Sometimes I hate myself for saying really stupid things. He really deserves better. Luckily, he hasn't realized that, yet, or I'd be out on the street on my butt.
We have make-up/retake pictures on Tuesday, too. I think I'm going to get mine redone. It's a really good picture of me in the face, but my hair is all doofy on one side. And my necklace chain is turned around. But I wouldn't care about the necklace part if my hair had been okay. Plus, I'm wearing this really cute jacket in the picture, but Shay says it looks like a 'grandma' shirt. Well, I am a GILF, afterall, right?! ;) Anyway, might make a 'costume change' too if I decide to get them retaken.
Jake's putting my cousin's poem lyrics to music. He's going to try his best, anyway. I'm sure it'll be fantastic when it's done.
I really miss Eric Lawhorn. I never talk to him. I should. He's the best. He could be my mentor for random things, too. He's the KING. Seriously. Even moreso than Terence. Shocker, right? Well...it's true. And TPolk will admit it.
Read pKyle's True Parallels post for today. It's really awesome. And read the comment I added, too. HOLLABACK!

HOLLABACK!

G.I.L.F.? .... or just plain LOSER?
Yeah...I'm old. Wanna know HOW old? Nana and I wanted Mexican for supper tonight, so we decide to stop by the ol' El Jalisco (that's El Hell to us Clinton locals). Well, we drove in the parking lot, saw that EVERY space (and then some) was taken by (insertSUVnamehere)s driven by preppy PC students, and decided that, no, we didn't want to eat amongst all the "college kids," so we therefore drove to Taco Bell and got our Mexican to go.
I'm TWENTY THREE YEARS OLD. I didn't want to park in the gravel lot farther away from the restaurant and fight the noise and the crowd just to eat Mexican with my grandmother. F***ed up? I think so!
But actually, I don't think it's that I'm too old, but that I'm somewhat intimidated. I'm fine in Clemson, because I have my own big rowdy crowd, and I'm familiar with the setting. But for some reason, college kids (which, by the way, are now ALL younger than I am) still intimidate me. For some reason, I still have this teeny-tiny little I'mSuchADork complex deep down inside me that is afraid that all the cute, popular college (read: Greek) kids will point and laugh and call me a loser.
It's so weird. As confident and independent as I can be in many places with many people, there are still some settings that make me feel like I'm a little, dependent 11-year-old school girl nerd who doesn't want to let go of her mommy's hand.
Although...Nana is 75 years old, and didn't want to eat with the college crowd, either. So that tells me one of two things: 1) I'm wise beyond my years and act like a 75 year old; OR 2) Even 75-year-old adults haven't quite had the little kid grow out of them yet.
For my sake, I hope it's the latter!

I'm an idiot.
I'm taking back all of the negative things I said about Home last night. I'm truly blessed to have a home. And to have a loving family who only wants the best for me. I'm thankful that I still have a place (or 5) where I can lay my head any night of any week of any year. I would not trade my brother's dog or my complaint-filled grandma or my mold-covered walls for anything. I sounded like a spoiled, selfish little brat last night. But I'm in a totally different state of mind this evening. I hope each of you think about what you're thankful for or blessed with tonight. It'll make you feel better--especially with all the disaster we face each day on our televisions and in our own personal lives sometimes.
Please pray for Jen's cousins, Caleb and Luke; My cousin Griffin's best friend, Hamp; and Mary Clark.
Caleb has cancer and is already undergoing chemotherapy. He will start radiation next week. He is 2 years old.
Luke is having emergency open-heart surgery tomorrow. His chances of coming through it are 50/50. He is only 3 or 4 weeks old. He is Caleb's baby brother.
Hamp has Stage IV cancerous tumors in his pelvis and in his lungs. He starts chemotherapy this week. He is 13 years old.
Mary Clark has moved to Ireland for an entire year for grad school. She has totally left her life at home behind and is pretty much starting all over in a foreign country.
Please keep these 4 very precious children in your prayers. Miracles can happen.
